Property Damage Paralegal
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Pay: $24.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Property Damage Paralegal to join our legal team. This position will support attorneys in managing property damage claims and litigation from initial intake through resolution.
The ideal candidate understands the insurance claims process, is comfortable communicating with clients, insurance carriers, adjusters, contractors, and opposing counsel, and can independently manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Manage property damage cases from intake through settlement or litigation.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding claim status, documentation, and next steps.
- Review and organize insurance policies, estimates, photographs, invoices, repair records, and other claim-related documentation.
- Obtain and review insurance policies and determine applicable coverage provisions.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, carriers, contractors, engineers, and other third parties.
- Prepare and submit claims, demands, supporting documentation, and settlement packages.
- Track claim deadlines, appointments, inspections, and other important dates.
- Assist attorneys with pre-litigation and litigation matters involving property damage claims.
- Prepare correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as directed.
- Organize and maintain electronic case files.
- Request, obtain, and organize records and supporting evidence.
- Assist with settlement negotiations and settlement documentation.
- Maintain accurate case notes and timely updates in the firm's case management system.
- Monitor a large caseload while ensuring deadlines and client communications are handled promptly.
- Perform legal and factual research as needed.
- Provide general administrative and litigation support to attorneys.
Qualifications
- 2 years of paralegal experience preferred.
- Experience handling property damage, insurance claims, first-party claims, construction defect, or insurance litigation strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of property insurance policies and the insurance claims process.
- Experience communicating with insurance carriers and adjusters.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and civil litigation procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing or inconsistent information.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Experience with legal case management software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a legal team.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential client information.

Experience with property damage claims is highly valued, but we will also consider candidates with strong personal injury, insurance defense, civil litigation, or other relevant paralegal experience who can quickly learn the property damage practice area.
Compensation
$24.00–$27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The higher end of the range is intended for candidates who have significant property damage/insurance experience and can independently manage a substantial caseload.
