Job Summary
Responsible for supporting all accounting and financial related activities, with a specific focus on equipment management. Key responsibilities include, account reconciliations, financial analysis, fixed asset accounting, and general ledger accounting. This role will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of financial and management reports as well as specialized tasks related to equipment accounting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Support the equipment financial close process of multiple companies.
· Manage fixed asset accounting process.
· Prepare monthly IFTA fuel tax reports and invoice coding.
· Support the coding and cost allocation process for rental equipment invoices across multiple projects.
· Resolve discrepancies on invoices or reports by interfacing with other sections, departments, vendors (contractors), and clients.
· Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Requirements
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
· Strong mathematical skills, including knowledge of probability, statistics, and basic geometry.
· Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems involving several concrete variables.
Education and Experience
· Four-year business/accounting degree or applicable experience in equipment accounting.
· Knowledge of general construction accounting, auditing, payroll, invoicing, and equipment management accounting. Preferred but not required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power Query and Power BI is a plus but not required.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
