Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
- Collaborate with workers and managers to resolve work-related issues.
- Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure it has been performed to standards.
- Transmit and explain work orders to laborers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Verify specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
- Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered.
- Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
- Perform the same work duties as those supervised, or perform more difficult or skilled tasks to assist in their performance.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports of critical information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results.
- May supervise up to 10 employees, providing guidance, training, and corrective feedback.
- Ability to perform a variety of duties which may change often; work within standards of accuracy.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and other climbing devices; carry tools and equipment.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Excellent vision and hearing (naturally or with correction).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient in routine report writing.
- Effective communication skills are essential.
- High school diploma preferred.
- At least two years of related supervisory experience.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Confined Space Entry are required.
