Summary: The Equipment Supervisor directs day-to-day equipment maintenance operations across various job sites. This role requires extensive travel to inspect heavy equipment and manage service personnel, ensuring optimal performance and safety of all machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee effective maintenance and repair programs, as well as equipment safety programs and machinery utilization across all projects.
· Serve as a technical advisor on production equipment issues, assisting the management team with budget considerations and purchasing decisions.
· Recommend enhancements in maintenance processes and techniques to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.
· Schedule and coordinate ongoing maintenance activities to minimize disruption to project schedules.
· Monitor work orders to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and meet quality standards.
· Maintain inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, and oversee the procurement of materials necessary for maintenance services.
· Conduct preventive maintenance and system checks to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
· Handle additional tasks as directed by superiors to support project needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· May supervise a team of 15-30 maintenance staff, including mechanics, technicians, and other service personnel.
Requirements:
· Ability to stand or walk for long periods, use arms and hands to manipulate objects, lift up to 80 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Must be capable of climbing ladders and scaffolds, carrying tools and equipment, and performing tasks that require stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
· Excellent vision and hearing (naturally or with correction).
· Willingness to travel extensively, often away from home for days or weeks at a time.
· May be required to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, or with short notice.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
Education and Experience:
· Advanced technical training through master mechanic programs, technical schools, or apprenticeships.
· Five to ten years of related experience in heavy equipment maintenance and management.
