Duties
- Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using hand tools, power tools, and trowels to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications.
- Install formwork and rebar according to blueprint specifications to prepare for concrete pouring.
- Operate heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, pumps, and cutting tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform concrete cutting, caulking, and sealing tasks to ensure long-lasting finishes on various surfaces.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other trades to coordinate project workflows during restoration or new construction.
- Follow construction workplace safety regulations diligently, including proper use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques to maintain a safe environment for all team members.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as masonry or plastering.
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming, pouring, finishing techniques, and curing processes.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, technical schematics, and interpreting construction plans accurately.
- Hands-on experience with rebar installation, formwork construction, and metal stud framing is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as concrete mixers, pumps, forklifts or other heavy equipment safely.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and understanding of building codes related to concrete work is a plus.
- Prior experience adhering to safety protocols in construction workplaces ensures a secure environment for everyone involved.
