The Electrician, Borger Refinery is responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, and replacement of industrial electrical equipment and systems.
The starting hourly rate ranges from $38.49 to $48.55, depending on skills and experience. Employees have the opportunity to reach the top craft pay of $52.49 per hour within 48 months.

What You’ll Do
- Maintain and install overhead electrical distribution systems
- Maintain and install underground electrical distribution systems
- Work on or near high voltage systems
- Work at height out of manlift equipment
- Troubleshoot, remove, repair, and re-install various types electrical equipment
- Test and commission newly installed electrical systems
- Troubleshoot, remove, repair, test, and re-install electrical motors
- Utilize multiple types of test equipment such as multi meters, megohmmeters, PDma, etc.
- Operate motorized and manual equipment which may include carry deck cranes, forklifts, manlifts, and bucket trucks
- Perform work activities that include pulling, lifting, twisting, working in enclosed confined spaces, and on elevated platforms while utilizing fall protection equipment
- Read and interpret various types of electrical drawings, including but not limited to loops, schematics, onelines, MF’s, etc.
- Enter and retrieve computer data
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Currently hold (and able to maintain) valid driver's license
- Working knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical systems
- Working knowledge of the NEC and NFPA70E
- Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Work at least an 8-hour shift and up to a 12-hour shift, which includes some weekends, holidays, and nights
- Available for on-call responsibilities
- Work overtime as required
- Climb up to 250 feet in height
- Learn computer software associated with process operations
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Maintain your facial hair daily so that a respirator/mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
- Perform firefighting duties
- Read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, work permits and instruction manuals
- Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
- Wear fall protection when working at height and when required by corporate policy, local policy, and/or OSHA regulation
- Work around chemicals, including acids and bases
- Work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
- Work near large, hot, high-speed machines
- Work outside in harsh weather conditions
- Work with petroleum products that are under high pressure and heat
- Willingness to work safely on or around 120 volts up to 69 kV
- Technical certification in Electrical Maintenance (or higher) OR an Associate’s Degree in electrical technology
- 2 years of directly applicable equivalent experience
- 2 or more years of military experience working with electricity or electronics
- 2 or more years of electrical experience working in a refinery, oilfield, and/or chemical industry setting
- Experience with SAP's Maintenance Module
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Experience evaluating and improving processes for uptime and reliability
- Working knowledge of substation maintenance
- Working knowledge of industrial UPS and DC systems
