What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program and Engagement Coordinator position at Philanthropy Colorado?
Salary Range: $52,000–$68,000
Location: Hybrid/Remote within Colorado
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Philanthropy Colorado is seeking a Program & Member Engagement Coordinator to support the delivery of programs, peer networks, and member engagement across our statewide philanthropic network.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing people together, supporting learning environments, and making programs run smoothly from invitation through follow-up. You will play a visible role in how members experience our programs, communications, and convenings.
You will not be expected to do this work alone. This role works closely with the CEO, senior staff, technical partners, presenters, and peer network leaders to ensure programs and engagement efforts are accessible, well-coordinated, and effective.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate logistics for member wide programs, peer networks, convenings, and learning sessions
• Manage registrations, reminders, Zoom setup, materials, recordings, and program archives
• Support presenters and speakers with preparation, materials collection, and technical needs
• Conduct targeted outreach to members and prospects to support attendance and engagement
• Serve as staff lead for assigned peer networks, ensuring continuity and follow-through
• Support policy-related programming and special initiatives such as Foundations on the Hill
• Help ensure partners and sponsors receive appropriate visibility and post-program follow-up
Innovation, Technology, and Learning
Philanthropy Colorado is an adaptive, learning-oriented organization. We are especially interested in candidates who are curious about how technology can support engagement, access, and efficiency.
• This might include experience or interest in:
Using AI tools to draft, summarize, or organize content
• Improving coordination or communications through automation or smart systems
• Supporting virtual and hybrid learning environments in creative, user-centered ways
You do not need to be a technical expert. Curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to learn matter more than formal credentials. We see technology as a tool to support access, clarity, and human connection, not as a replacement for relationships.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience coordinating programs, events, or engagement activities in nonprofit, community-based, grassroots, educational, advocacy, or other mission-driven settings
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort learning and working with virtual meeting platforms and digital tools, with support and training as needed
• Interest in philanthropy, nonprofit learning, public policy, civic engagement, or community-centered work
We encourage candidates to apply even if you do not meet every qualification listed. If you have relevant experience, transferable skills, or lived experience that aligns with this role, we want to hear from you.
Commitment to Equity & Inclusion
Philanthropy Colorado is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We actively work to reduce barriers in our hiring and workplace practices and encourage candidates from historically underrepresented or marginalized communities to apply.
If you’re excited about this role but unsure whether you meet all the qualifications, we encourage you to apply. Research shows that qualified candidates from historically marginalized communities are less likely to apply unless they meet every listed requirement. We value learning, growth, and potential.
Career Path
This role is designed for someone who is excited to grow their skills, confidence, and responsibilities over time. As organizational needs evolve, there are opportunities to advance into Program Manager or Engagement Manager roles with expanded scope and leadership.
Compensation & Fairness
Salary placement within the range is based on experience, role scope, and alignment with internal pay structures.
