MEDIA/AUDIO-VISUAL SPECIALIST

Purpose:
The Media/Audio-Visual Specialist position is a part-time position reporting to the
Director of Music Ministries. The primary responsibility of the Media/Audio-Visual
Specialist (hereinafter referred to as the A/V Specialist) is to provide technical
expertise and team leadership for the church’s sound, media, and video streaming
efforts. The A/V Specialist will oversee all aspects of the church’s sound, media
and video streaming for the contemporary worship service, traditional worship
service and special programs. A great candidate for this A/V Specialist position exudes
passion for enhancing the worship experience of the congregation, both in person and
online, and in a way that also fosters a spiritually uplifting worship experience,
drawing the congregation into the presence of God.
Qualifications:
- Have a working knowledge of computer system hardware and Microsoft Operating
Systems, Microsoft Office, streaming platforms (i.e., Facebook Live, YouTube),
Office Productivity, and collaborative software (i.e., Media Shout and Pro
Presenter).
- A broad knowledge of all aspects of sound, audio-visual, lighting, and production.
Responsibilities Include:
- The primary responsibility of the A/V Specialist is to provide technical expertise and team leadership for the church’s sound, media, and video streaming
- The A/V Specialist is also responsible for audio/video technical and creative development, production, and training related to live and post-production media needs for Sunday morning worship services and special events
- Communicate clearly with staff each week for in-house presentation support and announcements, PowerPoint slides or media for use in a live program, slides for hymn lyrics to display for outgoing stream; create and plan slides for outgoing stream for various parts of the service (i.e. - Children’s Time, Pastoral Prayer, Communion, and other sensitive portions of the service)
- Understand equipment set up and configurations such as microphones, speakers, video screening, projectors, video/audio monitors, recording equipment, soundboard, mixing board, wires, cables, etc.
- Manage and execute with technical efforts relative to live audio, recorded audio, web audio, video recording, and live stream of video production (live or pre- recorded productions) for the church facility
- Effectively troubleshoot and resolve any A/V related issues during services.
- Attend practice sessions, worship services, and special events that require the use of A/V equipment.
- Attendance at scheduled meetings as requested.
- Responsible as team leader and coach for the AV ministry by working patiently and collaboratively with volunteers of various ages and technical backgrounds.
- Coordinate, schedule, and train AV support volunteers for designated worship services and functions
Accountability:
- Must be a team player by working in concert with ALL ministry staff and leaders of the church.
- Will be supervised in day-to-day operations by the Director of Music Ministry.
- Will be accountable to the Staff/Parish Relations Committee and shall receive evaluations (including salary recommendation) by this body.

Pay: $10,000.00 - $12,000.00 per year
