Dog Walker and Pet Sitter

Philly’s Paws & Claws is now hiring! We have a full-service pet care business. We provide dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare/boarding, pet taxi services, and limited grooming services. We are expanding our amazing team of pet care professionals. We are seeking a motivated Pet Care Professional (a combination of private dog walking and dog daycare tasks) to join our team.

• This role is designed to be part-time. Most staff will work 15-25 hours per week (based on client demand and availability). Additional work opportunities may be available.
• Hours of operation (We provide dog daycare/ taxi services from 8 am to 7 pm most days. Dog walking from 7 am to 10 pm most days. Pet sitting early morning and late evening.)
• We are located in North West Philadelphia. We service West Central Germantown, Mt. Airy, Manayunk, Roxborough, East Falls, Chestnut Hill, and other nearby communities.

Compensation:

• $19-20 hourly (DOE) plus gratuity*
• *The position has a training/probationary period with compensation set at $17 per hour.
• $1500 - $2000 / month (New staff will start with a shorter schedule. During busy periods, some experienced staff members gross over $2000 per month.)

Schedule

• This role requires availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7 am-3 pm
• Additional hours available based on business needs.
• This role will require part-time holiday availability

The responsibilities:

Daycare Responsibilities

• At the daycare, we clean all animal areas, including inside/outside runs, cat areas, floors, dishes, and bedding.
• As scheduled and requested, feeding the animals and providing medications.
• We monitor pet health, check temperaments, and encourage a safe, welcoming environment.
• After training, bathing, and light grooming, the dogs visiting the daycare
• Inventory management with daycare supplies
• Assist clients and other staff with picking up and dropping off dogs at the daycare.

Dog Walking Responsibilities

• We provide pet taxi services, bringing dogs to/from the daycare, the vet office, and client homes.
• Create a safe and positive environment for our client's pets inside and outside of their homes.
• Follow the client-provided care instructions, including training preferences.
• Give our clients first-class customer service with a personal touch.
• Communicate with staff and clients via a dedicated app on your modern smartphone.
• Practice time management to ensure all tasks and visits are performed as scheduled.

• Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important.

• The ideal candidate would have consistent access to a safe, insured, and reliable vehicle. A company vehicle can be provided if needed.
