Business Coordinator, Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (Part-time)
The Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (PICC), established in 1987, is an independent, member-based, not-for-profit network of business executives representing corporations, innovative companies, investment businesses, professional firms and academic institutions who share an interest in furthering business relationships among each other and between the Greater Philadelphia Region (PA, NJ and DE) and Israel. Our operations are virtual and we engage our stakeholders online as well as in person throughout the Philadelphia region and on periodic missions to Israel.
Position Summary
The Business Coordinator reports to the President and Executive Committee (EC) of the Board of Directors and, working on their behalf, is responsible for Chamber activities in accordance with the policies, procedures, and Bylaws of the Chamber. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Manage the Chamber's day to day operations
- Create and manage the Chamber’s communications and social media
- Develop and maintain the PICC community of Committees, members, stakeholders, and prospects
- Work with the Executive Committee to facilitate the annual plan and budget
- Work with the Board and Committees to organize and implement the educational and social events that bring PICC stakeholders together, in person and virtual
- Work with the President on adherence to the Bylaws including preparing agendas and materials for Board and EC meetings
- Manage any consultants, vendors, and volunteers.
We may also ask that the Business Coordinator occasionally represent the PICC within the Greater Philadelphia Regional and Israeli business, academic, governmental, and diplomatic communities.
Qualifications
The Business Coordinator must be entrepreneurial, a self-starter, able to work independently, strong communicator, and also able to lead and work as part of a team, with the ability to influence others in a positive manner through organization, negotiation, and diplomacy.
The Business Coordinator will possess the following skills:
- Develop and retain stakeholders and volunteers.
- Interact with people of diverse backgrounds and interests.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management, project management, and the ability to prioritize.
A candidate for this role will have the following experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a business-related field or other management position, preferably including facilitation of resources and budgetary responsibility.
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, finance, non-profit management, communication/leadership, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong computer skills; proficient in the use of internet, social media, desktop publishing, QuickBooks Microsoft Office tools, and SaaS products.
- Familiarity with virtual event tools, such as Zoom.
And preference is given to candidates with any of the following:
- Experience in a nonprofit in either a leadership, staff or volunteer role and an understanding of nonprofit boards and their governance.
- Experience with event planning.
- Experience in building and managing communities.
- Knowledge of or interest in the current and potential business and economic opportunities between the Greater Philadelphia Region and Israel.
Compensation
This is a part-time regular position with a salary range of $29,000 - $36,000 for 20 hours per week with vacation and health benefits available. With growth of the candidate and the organization, there is an opportunity for this role to expand into full-time in the future.
