Philadelphia International FC (Inter Philly FC) was founded on the belief that we are stronger together. In 2025, three established youth soccer clubs united to create a comprehensive and inclusive pathway for young athletes across Philadelphia. From introductory clinics to competitive travel teams, our programs serve players of all ages and skill levels. Position Overview

Philadelphia International FC is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community-driven Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of club operations, including program development, financial sustainability, staff leadership, and community engagement. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a growing organization and make a mark on youth soccer in Philly.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Leadership and Operations

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive long-term strategic plan aligned with the club’s mission, values, and growth objectives, positioning Inter Philly FC for sustained impact and organizational excellence.
  • Partner closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to establish core priorities, monitor organizational performance, and ensure accountability through regular evaluation and reporting.
  • Identify and advance opportunities for programmatic growth and strategic partnerships, to expand reach and impact.
  • Provide executive oversight of all soccer programming, including travel teams, recreational programs, clinics, and camps, ensuring alignment with the club’s mission.
  • Establish and maintain a player development framework, ensuring consistent coaching quality, clear pathways for athlete progression, and a positive, development-focused experience for all participants.

 

Financial Management & Fundraising

  • Develop, manage, and oversee the organization’s annual budget, including forecasting revenue and expenses, monitoring financial performance, and providing regular (monthly and quarterly) financial reports and insights to the Board of Directors.
  • Lead and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including cultivating individual donors, securing corporate sponsorships, pursuing foundation and government grants, and building long-term philanthropic partnerships to support organizational growth.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement sustainable revenue streams, balancing earned and contributed income to ensure long-term financial stability while maintaining accessibility for participants.
  • Ensure the financial integrity and compliance of the organization, including oversight of payroll, tax filings and IRS requirements, grant compliance, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

 

Staff & Volunteer Leadership

  • Recruit, hire, and lead a high-performing team of staff, coaches, and volunteers, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and opportunities for professional development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven organizational culture, ensuring alignment with the club’s values and a strong commitment to equity, respect, and belonging across all levels of the organization.
  • Establish and oversee staff performance, including goal setting, regular evaluations, and feedback processes to ensure accountability, support staff development, and drive organizational excellence.

 

Community Engagement & Experience

  • Serve as the primary ambassador for Inter Philly FC, representing the organization across the Philadelphia community and strengthening its visibility, reputation, and partnerships.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with schools, community organizations, and local stakeholders to expand access, deepen impact, and support program growth.
  • Ensure clear, consistent, and proactive communication with players and families, establishing systems that promote transparency, responsiveness, and trust.
  • Champion a high-quality, inclusive participant experience, maintaining strong standards for engagement, sportsmanship, and overall satisfaction across all programs.

 

Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in youth sports administration, nonprofit management, or a comparable mission-driven organization, including direct experience managing programs, staff, or volunteers.
  • Demonstrated success in organizational leadership, including strategic planning, budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, interpreting financial reports, and making data-informed operational decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders including families, coaches, staff, board members, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and sustain high-performing teams in a fast-paced, community-facing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, sponsorship development, donor cultivation, or grant writing within a nonprofit or youth sports context.
  • Familiarity with community-based youth development models, particularly those focused on equity, access, or girls’ participation in sports.
  • Background in soccer as a player, coach, or administrator, with strong understanding of player development pathways and club soccer structures.

Position and Compensation Details

  • The minimum starting salary for this position is $125,000, with final compensation based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications. 
  • This is a full-time, exempt position requiring non-traditional work hours including nights and weekends.
  • The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and leads a team of full- and part-time staff as well as independent contractors.
  • This position is expected to serve as the individual’s primary full-time professional commitment. Any outside employment, consulting, or significant professional engagements must be disclosed and approved in advance by the Board of Directors. 
  • The Executive Director must successfully complete appropriate clearances within one month of start date and must maintain clearances throughout employment. Clearances include PA Child Welfare Check, PA Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting Check, SafeSport Training, and Concussion Training.
