Reporting to the EVP – Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Business Partner is an experienced individual contributor, subject matter expert, and employee experience and engagement champion. Actively partnering with business leaders and their teams, the incumbent understands business unit specific goals, organizational challenges and talent needs, identifies, develops and executes HR strategies, and implements HR solutions to support those objectives. The Senior Human Resources Business Partner works across HR specialties, is accountable for coordinating and ensuring key initiatives and projects are achieved and will work across the organization to drive, enhance and support projects focused on core business priorities.


Essential Functions:

  • Collaborates with HR management, executes HR initiatives, and consults with business unit heads in the execution of human resources strategies, alignment/integration-related activities, employee relations, performance management and compensation administration
  • Analyzes HR metrics such as time to fill, grievance outcomes, employee relations complaints, and off boarding data to identify areas for improvement and training, and to drive enhancements
  • Collaborates with business unit heads and HR managers to resolve sensitive matters, including conflicts, complaints, grievances, arbitrations and performance improvement issues, and matters relating to compliance with organizational guidelines, policies and procedures that govern employee conduct and PHA’s rules of engagement
  • Coordinates and administers the leaves of absence and worker compensation programs, as assigned
  • Acts as internal subject matter expert within Human Resources on assigned areas to assist in developing and implementing strategies entity-wide
  • Conceives of and delivers programs to enhance the employee experience, employee engagement and employee satisfaction with an Employer of Choice mindset
  • Maintains knowledge of all federal, state, and local labor/employment and wage and hour laws
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Education and Experience


Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field; and at least six (6) years of directly related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Preferred


Master degree in human resources management is preferred; Human Resources certification is preferred.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into proactive actions to prevent or preempt unfavorable employee experience trends
  • Mastery of human resources basics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing compliance requirements governing human resources operations
  • Identifying, diffusing and mediating differences, and developing consensus
  • Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Working independently and demonstrating initiative
  • Working collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
  • Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and present information in a group setting


License and Certification Requirements

Possession of a valid driver's license is required.


Physical Demands and Working Environment

Work is performed in a standard office environment.
