Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our healthcare team. This leadership role is vital in overseeing nursing operations within our home health agency. We have adult and pediatric home health care programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, extensive nursing knowledge, and a commitment to providing exceptional guidance and care. The Assistant Director of Nursing will support nursing staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintain high standards of patient safety safety and well-being. The ADON will assist in the growth and development of the nursing staff and both programs.
Key responsibilities
Staff management:
- Supervise, train, and mentor nursing staff, including conducting performance evaluations, handling complaints, and assisting with hiring and scheduling.
- Complete initial and annual competency assessments and performance reviews.
Patient care oversight:
- Assist in coordinating patient care, ensuring a high level of care is provided, and monitoring patient condition.
- Conduct patient record audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform administrative duties such as processing physician orders and completing required reports.
- Complete supervisory visits and both pediatric and adult assessments.
Operational and administrative support:
- Support the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational rules and regulations.
- Experience with Medicare surveys is required.
Leadership and communication:
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing staff, other departments, patients, and families.
- Participate in meetings and collaborate with other department heads and healthcare professionals.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
