What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS Consultant position at Philadelphia Department of Commerce?
The Taking Care of Business program (TCB) seeks a highly motivated and detail oriented
GIS Consultant (Independent Contractor) to complete a series of specific projects to assist in
the update and quality control of TCB’s data systems.
Responsibilities
1. Update current and historical GIS data:
a. Update current and previous litter index data to ease visualization
b. Provide quality control for all TCB cleaning segments for current and previous contract
years
c. Establish historical start dates for individual cleaning segments
d. Utilize GIS tools to map historical changes in cleaning areas
e. Develop clear methodology for improved data management
Qualifications
1. Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; significant related work experience
may be considered in lieu of a degree
2. Strong experience in the following areas: project management, data management, GIS, workflow
improvement
3. Strong experience utilizing technology to document information and create reports, i.e. online
software, databases
4. Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and data management tools
5. Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and ESRI products.
