What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Philadelphia Country Club?
Philadelphia Country Club is currently seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals to join our team as a Line Cook.
The ideal Line Cook candidate is forward-thinking, energetic, and a creative individual with at least 2 years of experience and/or education in kitchen management. This role operates in a high-energy environment to create memorable experiences for our members and their families and guests through assisting in the daily preparation of food items in pantry, saute, broiler, and grille stations in the kitchen.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Slices and prepares cold food items, garnishes in an appetizing and tasteful manner. Prepares appetizers, hors d'oeuvres, center pieces and relishes, salad dressings, and sandwiches using Club recipes and standards.
- Prepares all food items by following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
- Covers, dates, and stores all food items to adhere to food quality and consistency standards along with proper safety and sanitation procedures.
- Upholds the highest operational and Member service standards.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Displays knowledge and ability to adhere to health and safety standards associated with food handling.
- Well organized and self-directed individual with strong leadership skills to aid through problem solving situations.
- Applicants must have a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work irregular hours, day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
- The employee frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds and will spend over 4 hours daily standing or walking. Depending on the requirements of the event, this role may be performed indoors or outdoors.
- Must meet PCC standards for uniform, grooming, and hygiene.
