Job Summary:
The Bowling Professional will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the bowling facility. This role is also responsible for providing exceptional guest service, coaching members on bowling techniques, organizing bowling events, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all members and guests. The Bowling Professional will also promote bowling as a recreational and competitive activity within the club.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop, organize and oversee league play among members, including weekly matches and seasonal tournaments. Leagues will include structures that cater to different skill levels from beginners to advanced players.
- Provide guidance on bowling techniques, form and strategy.
- Offer private and group bowling lessons to members of all ages and skill levels.
- Offer beginner clinics and workshops to encourage participation, excitement and growth in the sport.
- Develop and implement engaging events, including themed bowling nights and tournaments.
- Actively engage with members to promote interest in bowling.
- Develop programs aimed at growing membership involvement in bowling activities.
- Offer introductory sessions to new members and create pathways for continued participation.
- Work with the marketing and communications team to develop strategies to market, communicate, and advertise the program and generate excitement with participation.
- Work with the Clubhouse Manager to promote bowling as a prime venue for private events such as birthday parties, corporate events, and social gatherings. Assist in creating tailored bowling packages for groups and special occasions.
- Create and maintain a friendly, engaging, inclusive atmosphere at the bowling alley.
- Oversee the daily operation of the bowling alley, including lane availability, reservations, and proper use of equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the bowling alley.
- Perform regular checks on bowling lanes, pinsetters, and other equipment to ensure they are in top condition.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff for any necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Assist in managing the budget for bowling operations, including equipment, supplies, and staffing.
- Track revenue from lessons, tournaments, and bowling-related services.
- Provide recommendations for revenue enhancement and cost savings within the bowling department.
- Ensure a safe environment by enforcing all club rules and bowling facility policies.
- Instruct members and guests on proper safety procedures.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations concerning bowling alley operations and equipment maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a bowling professional or instructor.
- In-depth knowledge of bowling rules, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to coach members of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced bowlers.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with bowling alley machinery and equipment maintenance is a plus.
- The Bowling Professional may work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of the club and special events.
Education and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience developing or working in a bowling program.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift or move up to 35 pounds when handling bowling equipment.
