Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrain systems, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs and wheel alignments to optimize handling and safety.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems such as automotive electrical systems and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to perform repairs efficiently and safely.
- Service vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake replacements, tire rotations, and fluid checks to uphold high standards of automotive service.
- Collaborate with team members to estimate repairs accurately (auto estimating) and communicate effectively with customers about their vehicle needs.
Requirements
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and vehicle systems including powertrain, transmissions, diesel engines, and vehicle suspension systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, ADAS technology, and alignment procedures.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and power tools necessary for complex repairs.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately and perform precise repairs on vehicle transmission systems.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Certification or training in welding or other specialized mechanical skills is a plus.
