What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Leader in Training position at Phifer Incorporated?
JOB SUMMARY:
The position of Team Leader In Training will train to directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operation workers. This position will also train in the leadership knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job of Team Leader in a Production Line. Management may assign additional duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Will lead, direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production of goods and materials
- Will document and record information – entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in either written form or by electronic/magnetic recording
- Will plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences, and will confer with management to coordinate operations to meet production goals
- Will conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to others
- Will read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and output
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of equipment, machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production of materials and products
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Strong visual/spatial, communication, and writing skills
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) diploma
TLT SELECTION PROCESS:
Candidates for the TLT position must complete the WorkKeys assessment (Applied Math, Locating Information, Reading for Information) as well as a Microsoft Excel & Outlook testing. Qualified candidates will then interview with a product line. The interview contains direct questions and situational exercises. Selected candidates must complete the TLT program to become a team leader. If the TLT is not promoted to a team leader position within two years after earning their TLT certificate, they will automatically be promoted to a variable shift team leader.
The hourly pay rate is $25.47
Upon graduation of the Team Leader in Training class you will receive a bonus of $2500.
You will also receive $1250 6 months after graduation and another $1250 12 months after graduation.
