Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring database systems including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Support database backup, recovery, and routine maintenance activities.
- Help troubleshoot basic database performance and connectivity issues.
- Learn and apply database optimization techniques such as indexing and query tuning.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams.
- Assist in automating routine database tasks using scripts and tools.
- Monitor database health, uptime, and alerts under guidance from senior team members.
- Follow database security, compliance, and data governance best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging database and cloud technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Basic understanding of SQL and database concepts.
- Familiarity with at least one database technology such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL.
- Knowledge of database fundamentals including backup/recovery and performance basics.
- Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell scripting is a plus.
- Understanding of Linux/Unix fundamentals is preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is an advantage.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Internship, academic project, or certification related to databases/cloud technologies is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Docker or Kubernetes.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
- Interest in big data, AI, or distributed systems technologies.
