What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Technician position at Phenom Technology Solutions LLC?
The Supplier will provide comprehensive onsite Data Center (DC) support services covering new installations, break/fix repairs, decommissioning, hardware dispatch coordination, and asset tracking. Services will be delivered in alignment with Verizon processes, SLAs, and change management requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Net New Installations
- Acknowledge DCRM requests within 24 hours and complete installs within 3 days
- Perform rack & stack, power-up, labeling, and DCTracks updates
- Install cabling, patch panels, trunks, and power strips
- Configure ILO/IDRAC, perform connectivity tests, and support audits
- Coordinate with Verizon leaders, customers, vendors, and facilities teams
- Provide on-call and emergency onsite support as required
Break / Fix Repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber and copper cabling
- Replace failed hardware components (NICs, SFPs, memory, drives)
- Support incident resolution through work orders and MIM bridges
Decommissioning & Cabling
- Execute decom activities under approved change records
- Remove hardware, patch cords, and cabling end-to-end
- Ensure secure media wipe, shredding, and disposal tracking
- Coordinate ADR/ERI processes
Hardware Dispatch Operations (HDO)
- 24x7 centralized coordination of hardware repairs
- Manage vendor dispatches, warranties, service uplifts, and scheduling
- Create and manage incidents, change records, and repair tasks
- Participate in outage bridges and ensure SLA compliance
- Verify repair completion and close all records
Hardware Receiving System (HRS)
- Track all equipment arrivals, removals, transfers, and RMAs
- Maintain accurate asset records in HRS and DCTracks
- Ensure audit-ready inventory and end-of-shift updates
