Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Representative (or as we like to call it, a Promotional Product Enthusiast) is responsible for gaining new business in our Custom Image Wear department (hats, shirts, koozies, blankets, jackets, tumblers and much much more) by reaching out to prior customers as well as finding new customers that would benefit from our products all over the phone! They will be responsible for assisting customers who would like to purchase Phelps Custom Image Wear that may call in or walk in to the Phelps lobby. They are responsible for providing exceptional assistance to customers and other members of the team. This entails making outbound and answering calls/emails, entering orders, providing quotes, and assists with order fulfillment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Seek new opportunities for business in Custom Image Wear Department
• Initiate cold calls to build a book of business of customers
• Understand customer needs and identify sales opportunities
• Develop meaningful relationship with customers over the phone
• Seek out leads and customer referrals to generate additional sales
• Maintain a book of business through ongoing touches with current customers and building relationships with additional customers
• Set and meet sales goals and objectives set by manager
• Research companies and target industries based on their potential interests and needs
• Create ideas and deals to appeal to current and new customers
• Answer customer inquiries professionally and in a timely manner
• Follow up on cold and warm leads to further the sales process
• Review pending orders and customer requests to ensure customer satisfaction
• Notify customer/salesperson when orders are complete and ready for pickup/delivery
• Process customer payments over the phone/email/in person
• Follows up with customers to make sure that they are satisfied with a particular product
• Updates all contact information for customers
• Help with any customer complaints and resolve the issue as necessary
• Assist in answering customer calls and directing to appropriate department
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of Phelps products, services, programs, promotional offers for Custom Image Wear
• Assist with other minor office responsibilities and customer service
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Excited and eager to gain and develop a book of business
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and comfortable working independently
• Must be committed to providing outstanding customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  
  

Requirements

• 2 years experience in a position with sales experience required
• High school diploma or general education degree required Some College preferred
