Janitor

Description

OBJECTIVE:

The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the facility and complete non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Clean and supply the restrooms and breakrooms multiple times throughout the workday
2. Clean the building including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
3. Notify management of need for repairs
4. Shampoo rugs, wash walls and remove debris
5. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
6. Polish furniture and fixtures when requested
7. Dust furniture, machines and equipment
8. Remove and empty trash
9. Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
10. Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
11. Clean up spills with appropriate equipment
12. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
13. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift
2. Must be able to work scheduled shift - Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm
3. Must have high attention to detail
4. Willingness to be reliable to your team
5. Eagerness to put forth your best effort each day

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job is inside a production facility focusing on industrial laundry that includes heavy equipment, steam tunnels, washers, dryers, etc.  There will be long periods of standing, bending, walking, and reaching.  Working conditions include hot and cold weather.  The production facility is not climate controlled – temperatures can range significantly and can have a significant ‘real feel’ far hotter or cooler than outdoor temperatures.  There will be exposure to moisture due to equipment.  There is air circulation due to fans and breaks are provided throughout the work day.
