Position Summary

Develop and manage maintenance team. Ensure machines, buildings, and grounds are fit for the purpose and meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. Oversee the activities required to meet all sanitation, Safety, and maintenance standards.

Essential Functions And Related Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily plant maintenance activities to efficiently allocate resources and coordinates workflow as determined by available product queues and equipment and personnel availability.
  • Review and analyze production and maintenance history reports, equipment maintenance trends, and develop improved maintenance methods to increase efficiency and reduce downtime and equipment failures.
  • Ensures adherence to/compliance with company policies, rules and regulations and reporting requirements relating to safety/heath, performance standards, operating procedures, processes, and training requirements.
  • Trouble shoots mechanical and electrical problems and provides technical support and direction for maintenance personnel.
  • Maintains critical repair parts inventory levels and outside service agreements.
  • Reviews maintenance and calibration records to meet both safety and sanitation standards.
  • Implements and monitors hourly employee training progression.
  • Supervises and directs daily activities within the department, including but not limited to: instructing/monitoring employees, training employees, monitoring employee attendance and managing staffing requirements and operations within production standards.

Job Qualifications

  • At least 15 years' experience in a Maintenance role preferably in a food manufacturing setting.
  • At least 10 years' experience leading teams of people in the maintenance field
  • Previous experience establishing maintenance related policies, procedures and
  • Knowledge of quality systems and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to collaborate with multiple departments and customers to resolve issues.
  • High level attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and provide strategic insight and analysis to solve problems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, ERP software systems, and statistical software

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • 15 in manufacturing or maintenance management related field.
  • Experience developing preventive maintenance and safety programs.
  • Previous experience leading production in a manufacturing company.
  • 20 years' experience in electrical and mechanical trouble shooting.

Physical Demands

  • Average visual and hearing acuity.
  • Average muscular action and body movement.
  • Average upper and lower body strength required.
  • Prolonged walking and standing
  • Lifting of 30 lbs. or more.

Work Environment

Moderate noise levels, as well as, the possibility of occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particulates characterize the work environment. Activity near moving equipment is necessary. Additionally, prolonged exposure to heat or cold.
