General Summary
- The Manager, Physician Lifecycle is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end experience of physicians at Phelps Health—from recruitment support and onboarding through engagement, retention, and offboarding. This role ensures a seamless, compliant, and high-quality physician journey by coordinating across departments, improving processes, and using data to enhance satisfaction and retention. It serves as a key operational leader and liaison between physicians, leadership, and administrative teams.
- Coordinate all aspects of physician onboarding, including interviews, travel, orientation, and readiness of workspace, equipment, and system access
- Manage onboarding-related financial processes such as reimbursements, sign-on bonuses, relocation, and stipends
- Partner with internal teams to ensure completion of licensing, credentialing, DEA registration, and malpractice coverage
- Serve as the primary point of contact for physicians from pre-hire through onboarding, providing guidance and resolving issues
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve onboarding programs aligned with organizational values
- Track, analyze, and report on onboarding, engagement, retention, and offboarding metrics to identify trends and opportunities
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute physician retention and engagement strategies
- Lead and coordinate physician offboarding processes, ensuring compliant and seamless transitions of responsibilities and coverage
- Analyze exit interviews data and synthesize insights to inform organizational improvements
- Drive standardization, process improvement, and cross-functional alignment across the physician lifecycle
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Masters Degree of Arts Degree (AA) in Business Administration, or related area of study.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in physician onboarding, retention, or related field required
- At least 2 years in physician recruitment, physician relations, or healthcare operations required
- Experience supporting physician transitions or offboarding preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities required.
- Work is performed primarily in a standard air-conditioned office environment.
