General Summary
- The Government Relations Coordinator develops and maintains relationships with all levels of government and the military in support of organizational interests. The position works closely with senior leaders to advocate and lobby for favorable public policy.
- Develops and maintains relationships with elected, appointed, and other governmental officials across all levels of government, as well as the military.
- Coordinates advocacy and lobbying efforts in support of strategic priorities.
- Assesses the impact of policy proposals to identify opportunities and risks.
- Develops external funding opportunities in support of existing and planned projects.
- Enhances institutional visibility by actively participating in shaping health policy.
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three years of related work experience required. Experience in a legislative office and/or experience in healthcare preferred.
- Not applicable.
- Considerable mental concentration for sustained periods of time with attention to detail required. Pressures at times, accuracy, and interruptions. Must handle confidential material. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping. Vision and hearing must be good. Must have finger dexterity and complete use of hands and arms. Computer proficiency required. Must have excellent customer service skills and patience in dealing with difficult situations.
