POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Fort Wayne, IN facility is in search of an experienced MRP Systems Specialist. The MRP Systems Specialist is responsible for daily ERP Maintenance and Record Keeping in JD Edwards World ERP System. MRP Systems Specialist is also responsible for ongoing continuous improvement initiatives, training, and long-term projects.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Minimum of five years experience in both manufacturing and engineering functions
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering practices, manufacturing information systems and quality systems
- Knowledge in marketing and sales, product engineering, and human resources
- Be able to work with minimal supervision
- Smart goal setting for self, department.
- Self-directed achievement of departmental and organizational goals
- Role modeling a high level of accountability for internal and external audiences
- Willing to participate in continuing education to learn new techniques as they emerge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain rules and guidelines for the proper use of Manufacturing Systems, including JD Edward’s Item Master, Item Branch, Bill of Materials, Routings, Sales Order Scheduling, Reports and Menus.
- Ensure timely and accurate production plans and scheduling related to outbound Sales Orders and Work Orders in accordance with Catalog Delivery, Unlimited Quoted Lead Time, and/or Capacity Constraints.
- Work with Production Managers / Supervisors to ensure the accuracy of materials, time / labor, and work centers are utilized and recorded.
- Maintain accurate reports of expedites and exceptions to normal lead time assemblies.
- Ensure that critical and time sensitive information is conveyed to Planning & Purchasing for required material or processes for outbound Sales Orders.
- Support Customer Service and the Sales Process to resolve Customer issues and provide excellent customer service.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Time is spent in an office and on the manufacturing floor, both of which are climate controlled
- Time is spent in front of a computer screen keyboarding and manipulating a mouse
- Troubleshooting could be done on the manufacturing floor around various types of machinery which include moving parts, chemicals, coolant, and by-products of material being formed
- Higher level of noise on the manufacturing floor as opposed to the office setting
- One level with concrete floors, no steps, stairs, or inclines
- Rubber/foam mats are present in the machining and assembly areas
- Extensive periods of sitting, standing, walking, arm and hand motion, some foot motion
- Manual dexterity, rotation of wrists
- Good visual ability
