Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Automotive Master Technician to join our dealership team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves diagnosing complex vehicle issues, performing repairs efficiently, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and quality standards. Candidates with dealership experience, especially with GM vehicles, and expertise in diesel engines, ADAS, and electrical systems are highly preferred. The Automotive Master Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the dealership’s reputation for excellence in automotive service.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on powertrains, transmissions, diesel engines, and other vehicle systems with precision.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machinery to complete repairs efficiently.
- Service and repair automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and perform wheel alignments.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic issues.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed using auto estimating software and ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, with dealership experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engine repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machines.
- Familiarity with schematics, ADAS technology, auto estimating software, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues accurately using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Service technician experience with a focus on customer service is highly desirable.
- Certification or ASE Master Technician certification is preferred but not required.
