A well-established professional services firm is seeking an experienced leader to head its M&A and Exit Advisory practice. This senior-level position will guide business owners and executive teams through growth and transition strategies, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and ownership exits. The role requires both strategic vision and hands-on deal execution capabilities, with a focus on mid-market and privately held businesses across a variety of sectors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end advisory for buy-side and sell-side engagements, including target identification, strategic analysis, valuation, and deal execution.
- Develop tailored growth and exit strategies aligned with each client’s unique goals.
- Perform market research, industry benchmarking, and competitor analysis to support strategic recommendations.
- Conduct financial modeling, perform valuation analysis, and assess investment returns for potential transactions.
- Guide clients through due diligence processes and support negotiations, term sheet development, and transaction documentation.
- Manage relationships with investment bankers, private equity firms, legal counsel, and other third-party advisors.
- Oversee integration planning or divestiture processes post-transaction, ensuring seamless transitions.
- Prepare businesses for sale through operational readiness assessments, positioning strategy, and financial disclosure preparation.
- Advise on capital raising strategies, liquidity options, and succession planning.
- Supervise and mentor a high-performing team of professionals while collaborating with internal tax, accounting, and advisory teams.
- Represent the firm in market-facing activities such as client pitches, conferences, and networking events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in M&A advisory, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or consulting.
- Strong technical skills in valuation, financial modeling, and deal structuring.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions from origination through close.
- Effective communicator and negotiator with the ability to advise senior executives and business owners.
- Proven leadership skills and a collaborative mindset.
