Medical Assistants and Medical Administrative Assistants
Location: Smithtown, Stonybrook, Lake Grove, Commack
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $20.28 – $25.34/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and document vitals, medications, and chief complaints in the EMR
- Perform routine screenings: height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature
- Assist providers during exams and procedures; prepare exam rooms and equipment
- Collect and process lab specimens; perform routine laboratory tests as needed
- Enter proposed orders into EMR for provider approval
- Retrieve previous test results and medical records from outside facilities
- Educate patients on treatments, medications, and provider instructions
- Clean and sterilize instruments; dispose of supplies in compliance with regulations
- Maintain inventory and cleanliness of exam rooms; order supplies as needed
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient messages
- Follow protocols for patient flow and visit completion
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
