What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Specialist position at Phase 1 Construction?
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping and Recieving Specialist. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing warehouse operations, a commitment to accuracy and efficiency, and the ability to maintain the high service standards our customers expect. Strong computer, math, and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Receive and put away materials by verifying quantities, roll sizes, and quality; accurately enter all receipts into the ERP system.
- Manage all shipping documentation and required paperwork.
- Track shipments, address delivery issues, and file freight claims when necessary.
- Prepare outgoing shipments using a shrink-wrap machine.
- Coordinate outbound shipments (small parcel, LTL, couriers), selecting cost-effective shipping methods.
- Perform local deliveries as needed.
- Maintain warehouse organization, including stocking, loading, and material handling.
- Manage inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
- Conduct quarterly inventory inspections for both company stock and customer-owned products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to support productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or minimum of 2 years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Proficiency with FedEx, UPS, A. Duie, and other freight/shipping platforms.
- ISO experience a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, reaching, pushing/pulling, and kneeling.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience using warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and stand-up reach trucks.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

- Pay: $20.00-$23.00
