What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Services Specialist position at PharmaPoint?
We are looking for an energetic and motivated pharmacy technician to serve as Pharmacy Operations Specialist to join our growing team. This position is part of our pharmacy operations team, assisting in areas such as: pharmacy implementation, pharmacy management, clinical and pharmacy workflow, etc. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in retail pharmacy; additional experience in hospital settings preferred.
Duties will include:
- Assisting pharmacy team in the management and operations of client pharmacies, including staffing, compliance, inventory, etc.
- Working with our pharmacy, technology, and client teams to implement and optimize bedside delivery of discharge medications
- Determining and applying best practices to implementing pharmacy services into the clinical workflow
- Assisting in the initial setup of a new pharmacy
- Communicating with pharmacy staff on best practices, goals and specific jobs and projects
- Analyzing and helping optimize pharmacy workflow, data and processes
- Assisting technology/data analysis team by conveying specific processes and key metrics for incorporation into our technology platform and reporting
- Some travel may be required
Key Knowledge & Skills
- Strong communication skills both orally and in writing. Skilled individual and group process techniques and strong interpersonal relations. Must be able to make effective group presentations to client’s staff and corporate management.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate processes in both clinical and pharmacy workflow, and detail and communicate succinctly and clearly with clients and management
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines.
- Ability to stay organized and follow through on given tasks
- Must have strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with PioneerRx a plus
Education and Experience
- Education: High-school required; Bachelor degree a plus
- Experience: 2-10 years of experience required in retail pharmacy; additional experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
