Long-Term Care Pharmacy Typing Technician Needed
POSITION SUMMARY: Pharmacy Unlimited is an independently owned and operated closed door Long-Term Care Pharmacy that specializes in fulfilling the needs of our LTC facilities and the patients they serve. An LTC pharmacy technician performs day-to-day duties under the supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with established pharmacy principles, policies, and procedures and/or law. Technician must have, and keep, a valid Pharmacy Technician license issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) that meets the Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Data entry of patient/facility information and prescription orders
- Customer Service (receiving and processing order requests from LTC facilities)
- Answering phones and processing refills
- Answering questions regarding Omnicell units
- Prescription fulfillment
- Other duties essential to pharmacy operations, as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS: Typing and data entry skills, computer, fax and scan knowledge Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment/self-driven
- Ability to take direction
- Dependable/adaptable
- Customer service/phone etiquette
- Interest in technology
- IV certification preferred, not required
EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of experience in Long-Term Care Pharmacy setting is preferred; Framework and/or Softwriters experience preferred; and/or related experience or training in other pharmacy settings.
EDUCATION/LICENSES: High School Diploma/GED equivalent preferred State Certified Pharmacy Technician License is required.
WORK STATUS: Full-time evening shift
- Monday through Friday (8-5pm, 9-6pm)
- Alternative working every third weekend
