Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including compounding sterile and non-sterile products using aseptic techniques for IV infusions and other treatments.
- Manage medication inventory, ensuring proper storage, stock levels, and expiration tracking to maintain compliance with safety standards.
- Support patient intake processes by accurately recording medication histories and verifying prescriptions against medical records.
- Prepare medications for distribution in LTC facilities, hospitals, or acute care units with precision and adherence to medical terminology and safety protocols.
- Administer medications under supervision when authorized, ensuring proper medication administration procedures are followed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensing, inventory logs, and patient records to uphold regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery and address any discrepancies or questions related to prescriptions.
Requirements
- Proven pharmacy technician experience with a strong understanding of LTC pharmacy operations and hospital settings.
