Our model combines primary care, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management under one roof, creating a new, lower-cost site of care for underserved communities.

We operate across multiple states and are rapidly expanding a network of rural clinics co-located with pharmacies. Our goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality care while improving access, outcomes, and cost efficiency.

Role Overview

The Manager, Clinic Construction, will oversee the planning, design coordination, vendor selection, and construction execution of Pharmacy1st’s clinic buildouts.

This person will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, pharmacy teams, and internal leadership to ensure that each clinic is well designed, built on time, delivered within budget, and ready for clinical operations.

This is a hands-on execution role for someone who can manage multiple construction projects, coordinate vendors, solve problems quickly, and bring structure to a fast-growing healthcare platform.

Key Responsibilities

Clinic Design and Planning

  • Work with architects and design partners to develop clinic layouts that support efficient patient flow, provider workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate design reviews with internal stakeholders, including operations, clinical leadership, pharmacy teams, and executive leadership.
  • Ensure clinic designs are practical, cost-effective, and repeatable across multiple locations.
  • Help create a standardised clinic buildout playbook for future Pharmacy1st sites.

Construction Vendor Selection

  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit qualified construction firms for clinic buildout projects.
  • Manage contractor bid processes, including scope definition, pricing review, and vendor comparison.
  • Support contract negotiation with general contractors, subcontractors, and other construction vendors.
  • Build and maintain a network of reliable construction partners across Pharmacy1st’s operating markets.

Project Management and Execution

  • Own construction timelines from design through completion.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and vendor accountability.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, landlords, pharmacy teams, and local officials to keep projects moving.
  • Track project risks and resolve delays related to permitting, materials, construction issues, inspections, or vendor performance.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, budget, risks, and key decisions.

Permitting, Compliance, and Site Readiness

  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, and local approval processes.
  • Ensure clinic buildouts meet applicable healthcare, building, safety, accessibility, and operational requirements.
  • Partner with clinical and operations teams to ensure each site is ready for launch.
  • Support the setup of exam rooms, patient areas, provider workspaces, and clinical support areas.

Budget and Cost Control

  • Manage construction budgets and track spend against approved project plans.
  • Review contractor proposals, change orders, invoices, and payment requests.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce buildout cost without compromising quality or patient experience.
  • Help leadership evaluate capital requirements for future clinic expansion.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with the CEO, operations team, clinical leadership, architects, contractors, and pharmacy staff.
  • Ensure construction plans align with clinic launch timelines and staffing plans.
  • Communicate clearly across internal and external teams.
  • Serve as the central owner for clinic construction execution.

  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams at once.
  • High attention to detail and ability to identify project risks early.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to Pharmacy1st clinic and pharmacy sites as needed.
  • Ability to operate in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Experience managing projects in rural or small town markets.
  • Familiarity with healthcare facility requirements, accessibility standards, permitting, inspections, and site readiness.
  • Experience developing repeatable buildout templates or construction playbooks.
  • Experience working in a multi site operating environment.
