We are seeking two (2) exceptional Maintenance Technicians - level II, for our Kearny and Totowa locations. This position plays a significant role within the Company in the Plant and the Process Engineering department. This is a full-time onsite position working forty (40) hours a week, Monday through Friday with flexibility to be available on weekends. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on spray dryers, ensuring equipment is functioning at peak efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and control systems associated with spray drying operations.
  • ·Maintain and repair high roll compaction equipment, including monitoring and troubleshooting control systems, mechanical components, and electrical systems to ensure proper blending of materials in the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment and facility systems, including lubrication, parts replacement, calibration, and adjustments to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform general facility maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural repairs to ensure a safe and operational plant environment.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to quickly identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, minimizing production downtime.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Conduct work in compliance with plant safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and any corrective actions taken. Complete detailed maintenance reports, equipment logs, and parts inventory documentation.
  • Work closely with other maintenance team members, operators, and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations. Provide training and mentorship to less experienced maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate and document production targets and performance between day shift operations and off-shift.
  • Document and communicate off-shift employee concerns, requests and performance to supervisor and/or facility lead.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in equipment and facility maintenance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and plant projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.·
  • Associate’s degree, or Vocational school in industrial or mechanical maintenance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in maintaining spray dryer systems, high-capacity blenders, and other related equipment.
  • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. A Mechanial and Boiler certified license is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various plant environments including confined spaces, high altitudes, and hazardous areas.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States - Permanent US Work Authorization (US Citizenship or a valid Green Card)

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), and control systems.
