What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patent Paralegal position at Pharmaceutical Company?
We are seeking an experienced Patent Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to multiple patent attorneys within the Legal Department. The ideal candidate will have strong U.S. patent prosecution experience, in-depth knowledge of USPTO procedures, and experience managing patent filings, docketing, and prosecution-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file U.S. patent correspondence, declarations, assignments, transmittal documents, and other prosecution-related filings.
- Manage patent prosecution activities through USPTO systems including EFS, PAIR, and EPAS.
- Prepare and maintain Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and review cited references across patent portfolios.
- Generate and monitor docket reports to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with patent attorneys, foreign associates, and outside counsel regarding patent prosecution matters.
- Maintain and organize U.S. and foreign patent records and files, both electronic and physical.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Patent and Legal teams as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of U.S. patent prosecution experience.
- Strong knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures.
- Working knowledge of 37 C.F.R. and MPEP regulations.
- Experience with USPTO electronic filing systems (EFS, PAIR, EPAS).
- Experience with patent docketing systems such as Anaqua, CPI, CPA, or IP Manager.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with First-to-File procedures.
- Experience with Lecorpio (IDS), iManage, and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Salary : $40 - $48
