Position Summary:
A Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing customer service. They play a key role in ensuring prescriptions are filled accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process prescription orders from patients and healthcare providers
- Prepare and package medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Measure, count, label, and record dosages accurately
- Maintain patient records and process insurance claims
- Provide customer service by answering questions and assisting with over-the-counter products
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking for expired medications
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety procedures
- Handle cash register transactions and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician certification (if required by state)
