Duties

• Safely operate a vehicle to deliver packages and goods to various locations according to scheduled routes
• Load and unload items using manual handling techniques while adhering to safe lifting practices and weight handling regulations
• Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies to ensure compliance during all driving activities
• Navigate assigned routes efficiently using route driving skills to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining safety standards
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions, and ensuring accurate delivery of items
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports for all shipments and activities
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and proper functioning of the vehicle

Experience

• Previous delivery driver experience or courier work is highly preferred
• Warehouse experience is a plus, especially familiarity with manual handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (manual transmission experience is advantageous)
• Knowledge of safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques in accordance with workplace weight handling standards
• Experience with route driving, moving goods efficiently between locations, and adhering to DOT regulations
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in diverse situations
• Ability to handle physical tasks involving heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
