Gas Station cashier

Job Summary

Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process sales quickly and accurately, including cash handling and credit card transactions
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos or recommendations to enhance their shopping experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store area, including stocking shelves and merchandising products effectively
• Upsell additional items or services to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction
• Ensure proper inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with restocking as needed
• Promote safety protocols at the station, including phone etiquette when communicating with customers or team members over the radio or phone
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing concerns promptly, guiding customers through their purchases, and ensuring a positive shopping experience

Requirements

• Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual environments if applicable
• Experience supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and balancing registers accurately
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environments is beneficial
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, and maintain a high level of attention to detail
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to foster positive customer interactions
