Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Spanish Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication across diverse settings. Responsibilities
- Provide real-time interpretation between Spanish-speaking individuals and English-speaking professionals across various settings such as hospitals, clinics, social service agencies, and legal offices.
- Accurately translate spoken communication and document conversations while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy standards such as HIPAA.
- Assist with understanding medical terminology, patient records, and documentation review to ensure accurate information exchange.
- Support communication during child protective services cases, hospital procedures, or social work interactions by interpreting complex information clearly and compassionately.
- Utilize knowledge of American Sign Language if applicable to enhance communication accessibility for deaf or hard-of-hearing clients.
- Maintain detailed records of interpreted sessions, ensuring proper documentation for legal or medical purposes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication while respecting cultural nuances and sensitivities.
Qualifications
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is required; proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus.
- Proven experience in interpretation within healthcare or social services environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, hospital procedures, and patient confidentiality standards such as HIPAA.
- Bilingual skills with excellent communication abilities to convey information accurately and empathetically.
- Knowledge of child protective services protocols and social work practices is advantageous.
- Ability to review medical records and documentation thoroughly for accuracy and completeness.
