Position Overview
Phalcon is seeking an IT Field Technician to support our Maryland DC, and Virginia locations.

This hands-on role is ideal for a proactive, customer-focused IT professional who enjoys problem-solving, fieldwork, and collaboration.

You’ll work closely with the IT Director and broader team to support approximately 4000 users across multiple operating companies, ensuring smooth technology operations from onboarding to ongoing service and support.

This position offers growth potential for a self-driven individual ready to take ownership of on-site IT operations and grow within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Respond to and document user support requests through the helpdesk ticketing system.
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
• Deliver and install technology assets including desktops, laptops, phones, and peripherals.
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, licenses, and user authorizations.
• Coordinate with vendors for warranty service and technical support.
• Support onboarding by configuring and deploying end-user devices.
• Conduct user satisfaction checks to identify and resolve unmet IT needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in all activities.
• Travel regularly to company offices and job sites in MD, DC and VA to provide on-site support.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What You Should Know

• Strong understanding of LAN, wireless networks, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, and asset management systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service focus with ability to assist users at all levels of technical ability.
• Self-motivated and proactive with exceptional time management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in IT or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Microsoft A or similar certifications preferred.
• 5 years of experience in IT support or field technical service roles preferred.
• Experience supporting multi-location organizations or construction environments a plus.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record required.
• Must successfully complete background check and drug screening.

Travel Requirements

• Periodic travel for company-sponsored training, meetings, and professional development is required.
• Regular travel throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. will be required based on business and project needs.
• Employees must be able to travel to customer sites, company offices, and project locations as needed to support operations.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
This role involves both office and field-based work across multiple locations in Maryland and Virginia. The IT Field Technician must be able to:

• Stand, walk, bend, crouch, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods to access IT equipment.
• Lift, carry, and move computer equipment, tools, and related materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Work in a variety of environments, including offices, warehouses, job trailers, and active construction sites with varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels.
• Operate standard IT tools such as laptops, handheld devices, and diagnostic instruments.
• Drive between multiple company sites as part of regular field support.
• Maintain visual acuity and manual dexterity to safely perform technical tasks such as cabling, configuration, and installation.
• Occasionally work evenings or weekends to support critical system needs or upgrades.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with employees at all levels.

A strong commitment to safety and adherence to company and site-specific safety policies is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
