Logistics Specialist
Location: Onsite, Lakewood, OH
Reports To: Capacity Team Manager

You’ll focus on carrier procurement and retention, shipment execution, and delivering exceptional service.

What You’ll Do
Carrier Procurement & Retention
- Build and grow relationships with carriers through calls, online load boards, and networking efforts.
- Qualify, onboard, and retain carriers that meet company and customer standards.
- Develop partnerships for long-term, repeat business and identify new opportunities within the existing carrier network.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within internal databases.
Shipment Execution
- Analyze the needs of each shipment to ensure proper carrier and equipment selection.
- Negotiate competitive carrier rates while balancing service quality and profitability.
- Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to send shipping documents, confirm carrier acceptance, and track shipments.
- Monitor freight from pickup through delivery, communicating proactively with all stakeholders.
- Solve problems quickly and professionally when service disruptions occur.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects or duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring

- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort following standard operating procedures (SOPs) across Operations and Account Management.
