PHA Michigan LLC is growing and seeking a 2nd Shift Production Team Lead to join our organization. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday from 3:30pm - 12:00am with overtime as business demands.

The Team Lead will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of designated line(s)/team(s) on the production floor to ensure smooth operations and efficient completion of projects. This position is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and production targets are met while fostering a team-oriented work environment. The ideal candidate has experience in high-volume manufacturing, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the assigned line(s)/team(s). Address production issues in real time and implement temporary containment or corrective actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, train, and provide daytoday direction to operators on the assembly line.
  • Ensure the adherence to standardized work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor production performance and escalate safety, quality, staffing, or equipment issues to the Production Supervisor, Manager, or appropriate department when resolution cannot be achieved at the team level.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating equipment across all production assembly lines and processes, ensuring flexibility in supporting various workstations as needed to maintain workflow continuity and production targets.
  • Lead daily startup meetings and communicate production goals and updates (policies, objectives, etc.) to the team.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Logistic departments to resolve line disruptions.
  • Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; perform basic and routine adjustments and maintenance (red rabbit).
  • Inspect quality and quantity of supplies and equipment delivered to the team.
  • Support new model launches, engineering changes, and process improvements.
  • Conduct firstlevel root cause analysis and initiate containment actions for production issues.
  • Ensure team members receive proper job instruction training, and crosstraining in accordance with skill matrices and company procedures.
  • Complete detailed and accurate work records, shift reports, and other daily information as needed (OEE, QMES, IP labels, etc.).
  • Monitor and support achievement of production KPIs including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
  • Ensure that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete assignments.
  • Resolve conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees and escalate issues as needed.
  • Lead by example in adherence to all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Immediately report and assist in investigating safety incidents, near misses, and hazards.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, waste reduction, standardized work, and continuous improvement activities (Kaizen).
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

  • Basic understanding of production metrics such as OEE, scrap, and downtime.
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multiple departments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 23 years of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership, team lead, or training experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (812 hour shifts).
  • Ability to push, pull, and move materials or equipment when required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Handeye coordination of a fastpaced process.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing assembly environment with varying noise levels, moving equipment, and temperature conditions.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, or weekends as required by production schedules.

Due to the nature of this role and applicable safety and labor laws, only candidates who are 18 years of age or older will be considered. Sponsorship for employment visas is not available for this position.
