JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: HMMA On-Site Quality Technician 2nd Shift

DEPARTMENT: Quality

REPORTS TO: Quality Supervisor

SUMMARY: The HMMA On-Site Quality Technician is responsible for achieving a high level of product quality for the door module assembly by continuously improving the process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports quality initiatives for the PHA Alabama plant.
  • Provides on-site shop floor troubleshooting support at the HMMA plant in regards to quality problems that may arise during assembly of the door module to the door.
  • Troubleshoots problems in regards to door modules shipped to HMMA from the PHA Alabama plant.
  • Serves as point-of-contact for component quality issues.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Other skills required:
  • At least one year experience in the field of Quality Assurance preferred.
  • Must be mechanically inclined in regards to tear down and troubleshooting of quality problems
  • Ability to work unsupervised at HMMA plant
  • Excellent math skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit or utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Continually required to talk or hear.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • The employee must be able to frequently push loaded shipping racks throughout the warehouse area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Additional remarks regarding work environment:
  • Work area is heat/air conditioned within an office environment, with 100% of time spent in a shop floor environment.
