The Automotive Paint Salesperson is responsible for selling automotive paint, coatings, and related refinishing products to body shops, dealerships, and commercial customers. This role requires strong product knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive refinishing products and a proven track record in sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with auto body shops, dealerships, and commercial accounts
- Promote and sell automotive paint systems, primers, clear coats, and related supplies
- Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and application requirements
- Conduct product demonstrations and training when necessary
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and quotes
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Manage customer accounts, including follow-ups and order processing
- Stay current on new products, industry trends, and competitor offerings
- Resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure timely fulfillment
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of sales experience (automotive, paint, or industrial coatings preferred)
- Knowledge of automotive refinishing products and paint systems
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build long-term customer relationships
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency with CRM systems and basic computer skills

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with product handling as needed.
- May require operating company vehicles in accordance with safety standards.
- Must be able to manage fast-paced operations with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
