We are seeking an experienced Nutanix Resident Engineer to provide on-site technical expertise and support at MacDill AFB. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Nutanix infrastructure, providing hands-on system administration, troubleshooting, and mentorship to on-site operations and maintenance (O&M) staff.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the on-site technical SME for Nutanix infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
- Provide ongoing knowledge transfer and mentorship to customer O&M personnel.
- Support, administer, and troubleshoot Nutanix and VMware ESXi environments.
- Document configuration changes and updates to deployed architectures.
- Prepare and deliver weekly status reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure system stability, performance, and scalability.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improvements or enhancements.
- 7 years of consulting and/or hands-on systems administration experience.
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) certification required.
- Deep understanding of virtualization technologies with strong Nutanix focus.
- Proficiency with VMware ESXi environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, or AI/ML infrastructure.
- Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) environments.
