The SAGE Program is seeking an energetic and organized Walking & Hiking Instructor to lead outdoor walking and hiking sessions for older adult learners. The instructor will be responsible for previewing walking routes, coordinating participants by fitness level, and ensuring safety and engagement during all walks. The instructor will create a welcoming and supportive environment for older adults participating in the program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, supporting older adults, and fostering a positive and inclusive community.Instruction is primarily designed to serve adult learners, with a focus on senior students aged 60 and older. The instructor must remain current in their discipline and continuously explore teaching methods and strategies that effectively engage older adult learners. This includes organizing and delivering instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles, life experiences, and physical or cognitive considerations common to senior learners. The instructor must also implement appropriate assessment tools that monitor participation and learning progress.The instructor is expected to participate in related activities such as professional development and curriculum design to support the goals of lifelong learning for the senior population.
