Overview
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Assist Head Golf Professional with numerous daily activities relating to the management and operation of the club’s golf program.
Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities)
- Assists Head Golf Professional with merchandising, regulating on-course play, as well as cart and outside personnel management responsibilities.
- Maintains golf shop inventory control system.
- Assists members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations.
- Conducts golf clinics.
- Maintains handicap records.
- Assumes golf professional duties in the absence of Head Golf Professional and / or 1st Assistant Professional.
- Manages the daily opening and closing of golf operations.
- Selects, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates the golf shop staff, bag room, range and cart attendants.
- Assists in the coordination of tournaments and special events.
- Assists in coordinates junior golf activities.
- Performs starter or marshal duties as needed.
- Managers USGA handicap system for members.
- Ensures golf course is properly marked for daily and tournament play.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional and 1st Assistant Golf Professional.
Experience Required
1 year(s) preferred work experience in the golf industry as well as preferred golf playing experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Must be a team player, great customer service skills, punctual and eager to learn.
Does not need to be a current Class A PGA Professional, buts need to be pursuing PGA status.
