Job Description: The merchandise planner is responsible for the financial management of their assigned area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, creation of financial & merchandise plans, actualization of results, and a keen ability to identify, communicate, and implement strategic business opportunities. The planner will be responsible for forecasting sales, margin, and inventory levels on a regular basis as well as identifying risks to the business and develop action plans in cooperation with their merchandising partner to mitigate risks properly.

Drives the development of product assortments, product allocation, inventory management and profitability in conjunction with the merchant Identifies opportunities and executes strategies to increase sales, margin, & turn to meet or exceed plan Determines space, sku, and assortment strategies that optimize store productivity Develops sound department and class-level financial plans; re-forecasts in season based on current trend Analyzes product performance in season, monitors demand, and adjusts forecasts to establish inventory levels that drive sales and maximize profitability Collaborates with operations team on in-season adjustments to min/max levels Provides forecasts to and collaborates with vendors to insure appropriate level of product availability Produces divisional reports

Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of retail planning experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of financially astute business management
