Position Summary
The Loss Prevention Analyst supports the company’s efforts to reduce shrink, improve inventory accuracy, and protect company assets through data analysis and case development. This role reviews exception-based reporting, transaction data, and video to identify patterns of theft, fraud, or process issues. The Analyst assists in building internal, external, and Organized Retail Crime (ORC) cases; maintains case documentation; and partners with field and corporate teams to implement corrective actions. The position also provides reporting and analytics

Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop a working knowledge of LP processes, systems, and company policies.
- Provide support and act as a resource to business partners for LP related functions. Business partners include, but are not limited to, Store Leadership/Associates, Store Support Center Associates, and vendors.
- Actively participate in team projects and seek opportunities to learn from experienced LP professionals.
- Maximize utilization of all available loss prevention tools and resources, including ensuring proper functionality of store-based security technologies – i.e. video surveillance, data feeds, exception-based reporting, etc.
- Assist in building internal and external theft cases by collecting evidence, reviewing video, and compiling transaction data.
- Support Organized Retail Crime (ORC) investigations by organizing case files, identifying patterns across stores, and maintaining accurate records for law enforcement referrals.
- Review point of sale (POS) data using various exception-based reporting methods to identify potential theft, training, or systemic issues in need of review/remediation.
- Assist in creating and publishing Loss Prevention reports, SOPs and other LP related materials.
- Assist in the development of action plans to address/minimize operational shortage.
- Assist with inventory preparation, reconciliation, and post-count analysis.
- Help identify potential process gaps that contribute to inventory shrink.
- Actively participates in self-development for improvement in current role and for future promotions.
- Strong interest in Loss Prevention, Safety, or Retail Operations.
- Basic understanding of store operations or customer service preferred.
- Willingness to learn Loss Prevention systems and tools (e.g., CCTV, alarms, exception reporting).
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in difficult situations.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time as the job is completed primarily at a desk each day. Variable desk heights are offered so alternatively sitting and/or standing at the desk is optional.
- Flexibility to work extended and varied hours as needed.
- 10% of travel is required.
